Pastor

The Pastor is a servant-leader. The Bible calls this servant-leader a "Shepherd" as well as an "elder." At Hays Hills the Pastor leads the people in spiritual growth, and helps the church to understand God's will for the church. Pastor David is available for counseling or answering questions. Please call or email him to make an appointment.

Pastor David Sweet holds a BA from the University of Texas, a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently working on a Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Pastor David and his wife Melissa have three children: Callie, Matthew and Emily. Melissa is a school teacher in the Hays school district.

Administration

Ken Rector

Minister of Administration

Ken has been a member of Hays Hills for 10 years, teaches a Bible Study class, sings in the choir and has a passion for sharing the gospel and studying the Bible. He loves to fish, travel, and cook BBQ with friends.

Ken has served on the staff of several other churches and holds a Bachelors degree in Marketing from Baylor University. Ken and his wife Cindy have two grown children (Jason and Amy) and one grandchild. Cindy and Ken are active with the Central Texas LifeCare Ministry in San Marcos.

Youth

Sean Sivils

Minister of Youth

Sean came to Hays Hills Baptist in July 1996 as the Minister of Youth. He has a real passion for reaching teenagers with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Sean is always involving the youth in new and exciting activities that lead them to a personal relationship with Christ.

Sean holds a B.S. in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston and a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Sean and his wife Erin have two children.

Worship

Tim Snowden

Minister of Worship and Member Care

Tim came to Hays Hills in November of 2004 to serve the church as Minister of Worship and Member Care. He is passionate about leading people in worship and has a real desire for people to grow in their faith and worship God in spirit and truth. Tim loves to see people develop and use their talents and gifts in ministry and service to the Lord. He loves to write and arrange music, travel, play golf, fish and hunt.

Tim is an ordained and licensed minister and holds a B.A.S. degree in Religion and Music from East Texas Baptist University. He and his wife, Sandra, have two grown children – Micah and Courtney.

Aaron Kahler

Minister of Children

Aaron recently came to Hays Hills to serve the church as Minister of Children. He is passionate about working with children and seeing them come to know Christ. He has a strong desire for children to be grounded in the Word and knowledgeable about what the scriptures say. He is excited to see what God has in store for the childrens ministry at Hays Hills and how God is going to use this ministry to touch the lives of many in this area.

He and his wife, Lindsay have one child Ezra.

Discipleship & Education

Jon R. Lower

Minister of Discipleship & Education

Jon became a member of Hays Hills Baptist Church in January 2004. He served as a Bible Life teacher, deacon, and deacon chairman until February 2010 at which time he came on staff as Minister of Discipleship. He has a passion for teaching, preaching, and mentoring other men. He and his wife Pat live in Kyle, TX. Jon has 15 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He has been a motorcycle enthusiast for over 50 years.

Jon is an ordained and licensed minister and holds an Executive MBA from the University of Southern California.

CLC Director

Becky Mazurek

Director - Christian Learning Center

Becky became a member of Hays Hills in 1991 and has served in several areas with children over the years including Advisory Committee for church childcare programs, trainer for teachers of early childhood education, Preschool and Children's Sunday School teacher, Preschool Camp Director as well as VBS teacher, outreach and new christian encourager. Becky is Chapel Leader for HHBC CLC and believes strongly in lifelong learning. Becky has a God led passion for Christian early childhood education and all things preschool. Becky has been a part of the Christian Learning Center since it began here 21 years ago & has been it's Director for 20 years. She leads a large staff of christian, dedicated & loving teachers. In 2010, the Hays Hills Christian Learning Center was given the Exemplary Award for Excellence in Pre-School Education by the Texas Baptist Church Weekday Education Association.

Becky has completed the Early Childhood Leadership certification program at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth as well as participated in and completed over 800 continuing education and training hours in early childhood development, administration, Christian education weekday leadership. She is an Advisory Board Member for the Texas Baptist Church Weekday Education Association and is a member of the conference planning committee for weekday programs with TBCWEA.

Becky and her husband, Terry, have been married for 27 years and have lived in Buda since the 1980's. Terry is President of First State Bank Central Texas in Buda. They have three grown children and their spouses, Erin and Andy Kretschmar, Garrett and Stacy Mazurek and Mitchell Mazurek.

Pre-School Coordinator

Marcy Lind

Pre-School Coordinator

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. Proverbs 22:6

Marcy has been a member of Hays Hills Baptist Church since 1996. She has worked for the Christian Learning Center located on campus for over 10 years, and started working for the church as Childcare Coordinator 3 years ago.

She has a heart for the children of Hays HIlls Baptist Church. She believes it is important to plant the seed of Jesus into our young children as early as possible. She feels it is a blessing to be able to be a part of ministering to these kids and their families during these vital years.

Marcy married her high school sweetheart, Brad in 1997, and they have two kids, Kaylee and Brady.
